Tutor briefing session 2013-14

21 September 2013

Today, the management team at EducateFirst held this year’s annual Teacher Training / Briefing Sessions at both the Leeds and Huddersfield centres. The day was a great opportunity for both existing tutors and new additions to the team to gain a deeper understanding of the company’s structure and our vision for the future. Attendees were also given the chance to provide valuable input as to the direction the initiative is to take in the coming academic year. The sessions, as ever, proved very popular and well-received. They will aid both tutors and management staff in confidently developing their methods and techniques in time for the commencing of classes on Saturday 5 October.

The session began with a presentation by one of our project directors, focusing on different aspects of the company, ranging from the essential foundations to successful teaching methods. Inclusiveness was a key theme throughout the sessions, with all tutors being provided with an outline of their respective roles. Attendees were encouraged to engage in discussion and ask questions at all stages, allowing all to collate ideas and adopt a constructive approach to all facets of the company. Each attendee was also provided with a newly updated tutor handbook containing a comprehensive syllabus for each year group and subject designed for this academic year, among other vital information.

After highly successful tutor briefing sessions, all at EducateFirst look forward to welcoming our new cohort of students for the academic year 2013/14. EducateFirst is committed to continuing its work to support local communities in the education of children aged 5 to 16 in English, Maths and Science.
