Summer school 2013 gets the thumbs up

26 July 2013

After all the planning and hard work, our summer school finally got under way this week. Children aged 5 to 13 in Leeds, Huddersfield and Bradford were delighted to attend the first session of the special learning programme. Parents felt that their children would benefit from attending the summer school as they need to keep their mind in gear. One parent said, “I think it’s a great idea because the kids spend too much time playing in the summer holidays and they forget what they learnt. Education is an important part of their life right now.”

The summer school project will focus on key elements that students struggle with the most – the idea is to help students become more confident in their ability to tackle problems in Maths and English. The project will also provide students with the opportunity to ask their teachers anything they did not quite understand during the last academic year (whether it be at school or at EducateFirst‘s classes) so that they have the knowledge that is essential to prepare them for the next academic year.

  1. Excellent work with the kids. We enjoyed coming to the summer school. Do you have any lessons in Rochdale as my cousin would like her kids to join.
