Project Bradford gets underway

2 August 2012

The team has been working hard planning and executing their plans for the education open day in Bradford and the subsequent opening of the Bradford learning centre.

The campaign begins in the office as the team pulls together their strategy for implementing another learning initiative in the heart of Bradford. EducateFirst will hold a FREE open day for children aged 5–16 years where our qualified teachers will be available to give free, impartial advice on all matters relating to education and career plans.

  • Are you uncertain of the route you should take for the career path of your choice?
  • Do you need help to boost your exam grades?
  • Are you getting the support you need to ensure you achieve the best possible result?

Our open day will not only provide the local community with an opportunity to gain some professional advice, but will encourage students to take part in educational activities. Refreshments will be available as well the chance to win some great prizes, including a colour printer, free private tuition lessons in Maths, English and Science, and much more.

Keep an eye out as our campaigners are set to hit the streets of Bradford over the next few weeks to help raise awareness of the educational support that is being offered to the community of Bradford.

SAVE THE DATE:
Saturday 22 September 2012, from 3pm to 6pm
At the Grange Interlink, Summerville Road, BD7 1PX

Everyone welcome.

I was told that educate first is opening a centre for school classes in Bradford. This is great news. My nephew attends the Huddersfield centre and my sister is always asking me to come along, but it was too far. Hope my son will benefit from the learning centre in Bradford.

Can anyone come to the open day or is only for people from Bradford? My sister missed the one in Huddersfield and wants to know if she can come with mr in Bradford.

    Thanks.

  4. The full look of your web site is great, as well as the content material!

  5. Today i learn that not everybody got place in class. Very happy i register my children early and they got place. Classes are very good and very low price.

  6. How long are these classes gonna run for? Are you going to increase your prices after a little while? I also want to know if you actually teach the kids or do you just give them work to do at home?

    Hi Miriam,

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to visit our blog. The classes in all our centres are designed to support local school children and will continue to run for as long as the local community need this type of support. The learning centre in Bradford is relatively new and we are doing our best to accommodate the needs of each student.

There are no plans to increase the price in the immediate future. The previous price of £20 per month had been fixed for several years despite increases in ongoing running costs. The new price of £25 per month has been applied to all learning centres effective from the 2012 academic year.

All students attending classes are taught in line with the National Curriculum. We are informed by several parents that some companies or tutors simply provide students with various books, worksheets or computer software and the students are expected to learn themselves. We do not believe this to be the most effective way to learn. Our tutors provide full teaching lessons in groups and on an individual basis to ensure the students gain maximum benefit from attending our classes / tutoring programme.

    Thank you.

  8. This is simply brill. Love the stuff you guys are doing for Bradford children. The government should be doing more aswell to give some support but i have not seen anything happen in schools.

    God bless.

  9. Hello there.

Will the tutoring service continue in September as I would really want my kids to keep on coming. They have improved alot since they joined and it only makes sense that they keep on coming.

Thanks to everyone at Educate First who have helped.

  10. Hi,

I have been told about educate first by my friends and found alot of information on the web and your blog. The classes seem to have helped alot of people and I was wondering if mature students can also attend the classes at the centre? I would like to register my wife. She is from Pakistan and her English needs improving.

Also, what will be the cost for her and how long will be she need to come along for?

    Imran
