Leeds summer school – by popular demand

6 August 2010

Following the success of our classes during term time, students were keen to continue attending classes throughout the summer holidays. To meet this demand EducateFirst set up a summer school project designed to keep children occupied, have fun and learn new skills.

Students participated in competitions, each keen to win the top prize: a mobile phone with mp3 player.

The project was a another success and all students received certificates for their attendance. We look forward to seeing the children again when our classes restart in the new academic year.

It’s a shame you don’t have a donate button! I’d definitely donate to this superb blog! I suppose for now i’ll settle for book-marking and adding your RSS feed to my Google account. I look forward to brand new updates and will talk about this blog with my Facebook group.

    Cheers – Andie

  10. Dear Educate First,

I was told about your classes by a friend and have been thinking about attending. I have done a bit of reading about the things you offer and feel happy that this would be a good choice for my children. Will it be too late to start after Christmas? Also, will the classes continue throughout the summer holidays from school?

Please can someone get back to me with information.

    Thanks

    Amer.

    1. EducateFirst

      Dear Amer,

It is never too late to join. However, we recommend that students join our classes as early as possible in the year as the tutoring programme covers topics from the National Curriculum over the course of the year.

The summer school option will depend on the students and whether they or their parents feel that they need additional support during the holidays. Indeed this has been a very successful project over previous years, but we are unable to indicate at this time whether the summer school classes will go ahead. More information will be posted on our website at http://www.educatefirst.co.uk/announcements/ as soon as it becomes available.

      Many thanks.

  11. Will there be a summer school this year at any of the tutoring centres that you run. My kids came last time and we wanted them to come again this year. We can travel to any of your centres. Please can you give us details of time and cost please.

    Thank you.

      Dear Mohammed,

We are planning to run a summer school at all our centres in July/August. However, the time and dates have not been confirmed yet. More information will be available on our website over the next couple of months, so please do visit again soon. With regards to the cost of the summer school, this is likely to be the same as the regular classes that run during the academic term (£6.25 per hour), but more information will be made available soon.

      Many thanks,

      The EducateFirst Team.

  12. http://www.educatefirst.co.uk is good website and the tutoring you have is also very good. Top notch in fact. I am looking forward to the summer school again this year. I was only able to attend 2 weeks of the special classes last year as we went on holiday, but this year my son will come for the full summer. Will it be the same as last year?

Can’t believe its a snow day today and all the kids are at home. If your classes were open I would have sent them there. You should hold snow day classes 🙂

  13. Mohammed Samir

Any news on this years summer school? Where will it be held and on what days? What will be the cost?

Thank you, I just called your office and have some more information, so no need to reply to this message but i just wanted to submit it anyway so that my name comes on your website 🙂

Thank you from Mohammed Samir (Huddersfield)

  14. Hi,

I am told that you will be running a summer school this year. Are there any details available yet?

    Thank you.

    1. EducateFirst

      Dear Sally,

Yes, we have been working hard to set up a summer school and are now in the process of announcing it to all parents and students. The date and time for each summer school class has not yet been confirmed, but registration is now open. The summer school will run for 2 hours every week during the 6 week summer holidays.

Summer school will be held during the week days in all our centres (Huddersfield, Leeds, Bradford and Dewsbury).

You can register online here: REGISTER FOR SUMMER SCHOOL

      Regards,

      EducateFirst

  15. I have paid for summer school and hope my kids will get a place this year. Otherwise they will just end up getting bored at home. They might as well be learning something.

    Thanks.

  16. Dear Educate First,

I really admire your work with kids. I wish to be part of your company as I have always wanted to work with kids. I am good with kids and want to help them with their school projects and homework. How can I apply to work in your summer school?

    Thank you.

    From Pam

  17. Does anyone know if the summer school will run again this year? The kids have barely been off school and already they are bored, not like us when were were at school. Anyway, please let me know if the summer school is on as I want to bring my kids.

  18. Tara Hussein

The summer school by your company is a very good idea. Children often get bored at home during the holidays and need to keep their brains ticking over so this is just perfect. Glad you are still running this even in 2016.
