No ‘Snow Day’ despite the big freeze

No ‘Snow Day’ Despite the Big Freeze

Last weekend presented a challenge for our team. After a week of severe weather that brought the UK to a standstill, our committed team of tutors ensured that the  learning programme continued without any hiccups.

Although the snow had calmed down by the weekend, there was still some significant snow on the ground in some areas. Nevertheless, given that all major routes were reported to be clear, EducateFirst declared that all learning centres would open as usual. The move was fully supported by students, parents and staff, some of who had ‘enjoyed’ up to 3 snow days leading up to the weekend. There was an impressive turn out at each centre, with the majority of students attending the learning sessions.

The importance of our community learning project and the dedication of our staff was clearly evident last weekend.

We would like to thank all our superb staff for their extended efforts in ensuring that teaching support was available for our students on what was initially set to be an uncertain day due to the harsh weather over previous days.
