Why private tuition?
As a parent you may choose private tuition for your child to:

  • catch up if he/she has temporarily fallen behind at school
  • learn a subject outside the school environment
  • give him/her a head start in school
  • focus on areas where improvment may be required
  • ensure he/she receives attention to detail on a one-to-one basis that is often not possible in a classroom environment.

How do I know if my child needs a personal tutor?
It can be difficult for parents to assess whether their child may require a personal tutor. However, you can ask your child how he/she is getting on at school and whether he/she feels that additional help at home would help. You can always speak to your child's school teacher to help identify any areas where improvements can be made. Even if a child is performing well at school, some parents decide to have a personal tutor to ensure their child continues to receive the best possible support to achieve the grades needed for college/University or a even a particular career.

Are there any additional benefits of having a personal tutor?
Yes. In addition to helping students become more proficient in a partcular subject, home tuition can:

  • raise levels of school performance
  • help increase confidence
  • bring enjoyment and motivation in a subject
  • develop study skills and discipline that can be applied across a number of subjects.
